Zenith Defy Classic Black Ceramic Skeleton Swizz Beatz Edition

More and more Swiss watch brands are embracing e-commerce and shaping their online retailing strategy. One of the most recent examples of this digital shift comes from Zenith, which has just unveiled its first online exclusive watch. For the occasion, the brand teamed up with Grammy Award-winning music producer and hip-hop celebrity, Swizz Beatz to create a special edition Defy Classic Skeleton.

The Zenith Defy Classic Swizz Beatz Edition is based on the recently introduced and reviewed black ceramic/skeleton dial version of the Defy classic 41mm. For this 50-piece limited edition, the model has been dressed-up with a striking orange flange with matching central seconds hand and an orange rubber strap.

Beyond the contrasting black/orange colour combo, the Swizz Beatz Partnership is not overtly obvious avoiding any loud partnership cues. There is no visible logo on the face of the watch and the exhibition caseback is personalized with the producer’s motto “Confidence + Positivity = Longevity”.

The black ceramic is 41mm in diameter and just 10.75mm thick, making the Defy Classic a versatile, comfortable wear. It is water-resistant to 100m/10 ATM. Inside is the in-house manufactured, automatic calibre Elite 670 SK, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a 48-hour power reserve. It comprises 187 components including a silicon escape wheel and lever visible through the openworked dial. It indicates the hours, minutes, seconds and the date at 6 o’clock – on a skeletonized wheel.

The Defy Classis Swizz Beatz Edition comes on an integrated orange rubber strap with a square grid embossing. It is also available with a black rubber strap with alligator coating and orange stitching. The folding buckle comes in black DLC. Last but not least, the watch is delivered in a cool presentation box incorporating a 10-inch vinyl record turntable.
