| By Brice Goulard | 2 min read |

James Bond is known for many attributes: he drives an Aston Martin, he wears tuxedos, he shoots his enemies with a Walter PPK… However what tickles our interest is, of course, the watches he wears. After sporting a Rolex Submariner, and later, during the 1980’s, a Seiko that could perform many extraordinary tricks, he has been waering an Omega Seamasters for many years now. For starters there was the now famous Seamaster Professional 300m that is nicknamed after its famous wearer. Later there was a 45.5mm Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m and a 42mm Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m with ceramic bezel. For its latest adventures, it seems that magnetic fields will be an important factor, as he will strap a Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m Master Co-Axial, with the new antimagnetic movement, on his wrist. Here is the Omega Seamaster James Bond 007 Limited Edition ‘Spectre’.

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m Master Co-Axial James Bond 007 Spectre - 2

To celebrate the newest episode of James Bond 007, Omega chose to use a discreet and reasonably sized Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m. Except the title – Spectre – and the actors, we don’t much about the movie. However we do know about the watch that is being used, as the Seamaster Limited Edition James Bond 007 Spectre uses a very well known base: the Aqua Terra 150m Master Co-Axial. It comes with a 41.5mm case, with flat bezel and stainless steel bracelet. The movement used is also known, as it is equipped with the superb and innovative calibre Omega Master Co-Axial 8507, resistant to 15,000 Gauss and now internally chronometer certified under METAS control.

The main novelties are the hands and the dial. The face of the Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m is now coloured in a deep marine blue, contrasting with the yellow minute track and second hand. The dial is embossed with the armorial bearings of the Bond family – this coat of arms can also be found on the second hand. On the back and thought the sapphire crystal we can see a specific rotor, representing the typical 007 gun barrel.

  1. Though I have been a fan of Omega for umpteen years and own quite a number of Omegas, yet I am not at all impressed with this new Omega.

In fact, Omega is trying all-out to use James Bond’s name as a sales gimmick.

  2. It is in-your-face commercial silliness like this from Omega that prevents me from ever buying any watches from the brand.

  3. Woah! The Rolex crowd were out in force. I’ve just bought the Aqua Terra with leather strap and orange second hand. The Bond watch is just one version, and there are many more. This is an absolutely classic design and a superb watch.

  4. As an owner of one of these watches and the car that came with it, I love the watch. However my watch has a “Black” face. I’m wondering why this is. Can you give me any information why my face is black while everything I’ve seen has a blue face. This watch came in the custom suite case that came in the trunk of the car which happens to be 1 of 9 Volante cars. Is that possibly why the face is black?
