Meistersinger Circularis Power Reserve - Baselworld 2017

After a welcomed surprise in 2014, the Meistersinger Circularis with the the Brand’s first own movement, followed by an automatic version at Baselworld 2016, this year the mono-aiguille brand continues the development of its most complex watch, by adding to the package a new complication, the power reserve, alongside new colors for the dial. Here is the Meistersinger Circularis Power Reserve.

This new Meistersinger Circularis Power Reserve relies on many common elements with the other Circularis watches. First of all, it features the same 43mm stainless case, designed in a classical style. Then, we find back what the brand has always been famous for, the single-hand / mono-aiguille display, meaning that the time is indicated by the mean of one hand and one hand only, which runs around the dial in 12 hours. Indeed, there’s no minute or seconds hand. Yet, because of the large diameter of the dial, time-reading remains actually rather precise, thanks to the detailed track on the periphery.

Inside the case of the Meistersinger Circularis Power Reserve, we find back the same base movement as the other watches of the collection, meaning a hand-wound movement (calibre MSH02), proprietary to the brand, with 120-hour / 5-day power reserve. The way this movement is designed is also extremely pleasant, with various curves and bridge cuttings, allowing for a view on most elements of the movement (barrels, escapement and balance, several wheels) as well as an overall original style. It is finished with circular Geneva stripes and diamond-cut edges.

The novelty for Baselworld 2017 is the apparition of an extra-feature on this Meistersinger Circularis Power Reserve. Placed in semi-circular sub-dial at 9 is a indication of the remaining power of the watch. Also, just like the automatic version, this 2017 edition features a date, yet it is now placed at 3 (and not at 6) in order to balance with the power reserve indicator. This dial still features large Arabic numerals that are applied on the dial for a nice depth effect.

The Meistersinger Circularis Power Reserve with date is available in four versions, each featuring a nicely selected color combination of indices, dial, single hand, and alligator leather strap. The versions with the black and the steel-gray sunburst (which appears blue here) dials feature superluminova on their hands and hour markings, whereas the hands of the ivory-colored model and the new opaline white version are blued.

The Meistersinger Circularis Power Reserve will be priced at 4,998 Eurowww.meistersinger.com.
