MeisterSinger Launches Bronze Editions of the No. 03, Perigraph and Metris

Three classics of the brand sheathed in bronze cases.

MeisterSinger specializes in unique, single-hand watches and its entire portfolio reflects that – none have a minute or seconds hand (well, there’s this one). Most of its cases have been stainless steel thus far, with a cool Black Line edition of diamond-like carbon (DLC) coated cases providing an edgier, sportier look. Bronze has been an increasingly popular case material with brands like Bell & Ross, IWC and Montblanc jumping onboard, and MeisterSinger itself has dabbled in bronze with the limited Perigraph Bronze. The German brand is now expanding on this with three new bronze editions of its most successful models – the No. 03, Perigraph and Metris. Bronze has long been favoured for nautical and scientific instruments due to its resilience and resistance to corrosion. It does form a patina over time, however, making each piece unique with an antique(ish) quality as they age.

The No. 03 watches are part of MeisterSinger’s Classic line, having either no date or a circular date window at 6 o’clock (bronze edition has the date). Bronze adds warmth to the sizeable 43mm case (water-resistant to 50 meters) and all three new models have a sunburst blue dial, “Old Radium” hand with a red tip and matching Arabic numerals. The No. 03 features a sapphire exhibition caseback with an ETA 2824-2 or Sellita 200-1 automatic on display, both having a 38-hour power reserve. It should be noted that both movements are virtually identical in design. All bronze editions also come with a dark brown calfskin strap with a bronze buckle.

The Perigraph watches are part of the Classic Plus line and feature an exposed date wheel that’s marked at 12 o’clock. Reminiscent of instruments from a bygone era, the date wheel adds an old-school sophistication and bronze reinforces that distinctive look of yesteryear. The case is again sizeable at 43mm with 50 meters of water-resistance, and a sapphire exhibition window displays the same ETA 2824-2 or Sellita 200-1 automatic.

The Metris watches, also part of the Classic Plus line, tone the case size down to 38mm, but up the water-resistance to 200 meters. Featuring a magnified date window at 6 o’clock, these are the more robust, universally sized pieces for an active wearer. The multifaceted bronze case construction coupled with the sunburst blue dial make this a standout in either the office or back of a fishing boat. The bronze Metris uses the same ETA or Selitta movement as the other two, which is again displayed through a sapphire exhibition caseback.

All three bronze editions go on sale in April 2019 and price will be confirmed later. They will range from approximately EUR 1,800 to EUR 2,100. More information can be found at www.meistersinger.com.
