Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra-Thin With Blue and Grey Dials For 2017

At SIHH 2017, some new Master Ultra-Thin watches went almost unnoticed, lost in the shadows of the cool Master Control with Sector Dial, which stole the show. However, the old Maison was not short of watches to feed the 2017 catalogue. Today, we take a look at 4 unapologetically elegant watches with classic style and functions, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra-Thin Small Second, the Master Ultra-Thin MoonPhase, the Master Ultra-Thin Power Reserve and the Master Ultra-Thin Perpetual Calendar, all of them now paired with a grey or blue dial.

Designing a classic watch is not an easy task. The focus must be on the essentials as the devil is in the details. In this regard, Jaeger-LeCoultre excels at creating superb round watches. Classic, under the radar, thin, elegant and devoid of anything that would make them too showy… but not boring either (far from that). With these 4 new Master Ultra-Thin watches, the Grande Maison brings a touch of color to the collection, adding an indisputable extra measure of style and originality while retaining its distinctive elegance.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra-Thin With Blue and Grey Dials For 2017

These new Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra-Thin models build on the existing collection with new dial colors, case materials, dimensions and functions. At their core however, they remain the great and elegant watches we’ve known for a few years now. The Master Ultra-Thin Moon Phase and the Perpetual Calendar (boutique edition) come with grey dials in 39mm white gold cases. The Master Ultra-Thin Small Seconds and Power Reserve are blue dialed editions crafted in steel, 39mm and 40mm in diameter respectively.

Crafted with the brand’s trademark attention to detail, the dials of the Master Ultra-Thin are softly curved, which adds depth and character, as well as a slight vintage touch, without falling into the trap of becoming a vintage re-edition. The dials are sunray brushed with polished rhodium plated appliques and are paired with elegant dauphine-style hands – with dual finish, polished on one side, matte on the other, enhancing legibility. The anthracite grey is a discreet and dressy option – a more refined approach that makes sense with the 18K gold cases. The deep blue dial gives the watch a more lively allure – which, combined with the steel case, makes for a more casual package.

The updated Jaeger-Lecoultre Master Ultra-Thin Perpetual was launched at SIHH 2016 and is now offered in a grey dialed Boutique edition.

All four watches are powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre in-house movements (automatics), with slim profiles, which allows the cases to stay under 10mm thick. With diameters of 39mm or 40mm, these 4 Master Ultra-Thin watches wear very comfortably on the wrist. Needless to say, all movements excel in technical merits and are superbly finished.
